My second layout was inspired by the fabric challenge over at Counterfeit Kit. I seem to take prompts rather literally (which I guess is fine), so when you say fabric, I think sewing. I knew I wanted to take a picture of the sewing box I received as a child (that I still have) and had a layout I had fave'd over in the flickr gallery as my design inspiration. A pink gingham and subtle blue calico worked well with the color of my vintage (wait...how could it be vintage? I'm not that old, am I?) sewing box and, of course, I had to use pinking shears and my sewing machine to adhere it. I couldn't pass up the opportunity to make a real fabric banner and "NOTIONS" seemed like the right word with the right number of letters. Sew, sew pleased with this one! (Sorry, I couldn't help myself!) And to boot, it just happened to fit in with the inanimate object prompt over at LOAD. Here, take a peek at my vintage sewing box:
Hope you find some textiles to dress up your next scrapbook layout. Now, if you'll excuse me...I have sew much scrapping to do!
