Enough about that. Let's talk about this month's inspiration kit. In an attempt to assist our fearless leader, Bethany at Counterfeit Kit Challenge, I suggested this lovely kit from Scrapbook.com. Take a look...
There are 2 reasons I was drawn to this kit.
- The vellum gold map paper that I know fellow Master Forger, Lisa had been searching for (yes, the Lisa who is so great about using past kits).
- The title..."Across the Miles". Lisa always signs her cards or emails..."Sending Love Across the Miles".
Serendipity, if you ask me! Bethany and the rest of the group were game and I was delighted to see that Lisa fell in love with it, too!
So here are my 2 takes on this month's kit! YES, TWO! The main kit...
The Main Kit, "Sending Love" was inspired by the deep reds and golds found in the inspiration. A perfect February Kit for Valentine's Day or any regal and rich layout.
And the Add-on...
A travel inspired kit, but doesn't necessarily have to be used that way.
I'm so excited to share that the miles won't stretch as far as usual as Lisa is making her way to New York City in February! We are planning a meet-up for lunch and shopping for the day. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to meet this sweet woman and scrapper extraordinaire in real life. I'm sure there will be many photos of our rendezvous to scrap using this kit.
So, now it's time for you to think about your take on the inspiration. Remember, it can be a literal interpretation, drawn from the color palette or even just the patterns. Make a kit you will LOVE and scrap away. Whatever you create, be sure to share with us on February's Mr. Linky!
Be sure to hop along to all of the Master Forgers' blogs to see their unique interpretation of the kit. It's always fascinating to see how creative and varied they can be.
First up is our fabulous guest designer, Doris. Welcome!

Thanks for stopping by!
So jealous that you two are meeting up!!! I hope to see lots of layouts of you two :)
ReplyDeleteStunning kit(s) Lynnette and beautifully presented. Love the thought process!
I'm blushing! But smiling from ear to ear at the same time! It's all true! I do keep my kits for ages and use them way after the month is past, usually really killing them in the process - LOAD is particularly good for that :-) And yes, I have been lusting after this paper! And yes, I loved the kit and really do sign off in that way. I love how you notice the details and you have a habit of making each one of us feel special! Thanks for that. I can't wait to meet up this month - just a few days now!!!!! And your kit will of course be perfect for some of those layouts. I have been working on a kit for last year's trip and am not sure what I'll use this time around but I think it will need some girlie pink for our meeting! I also spied the airmail envelope I sent you! I love how your staging really gets me to pay attention to all the details and really makes me connect with your kit.
ReplyDeleteLove having you as a friend Lynnette and this month is going to be so special :-)
The way you showcase your kit is so inspiring!
ReplyDeleteOh, I want to come play with that kit. Love the red and gold, and the navy you incorporated in the add-on. Looks so nice with that Longaberger address basket with the Old Glory liner (yep, a bit of a basket nut here.)
ReplyDeleteI was missing green in this and last months kit until I got to yours. Now I am green with envy. (but in a good way) So excited for you and Lisa, getting to have a meet-up. Your kit has a warm, oldy-worldy feel. haha on the chipboard pen in the ink bottle. Clever girl.
ReplyDeleteA lovely choice for a kit! I love your counterfeit, too!
ReplyDeleteBeautifully displayed kit :) Love the choices and the fun add on too :)

ReplyDeleteBoth kits are terrific, as are your displays! But, I am, especially, fond of Across the Miles. Those papers and assortment of extras are fabulous. I'm willing to bet that you will be greatly inspired to work through your kit this month. Enjoy your luncheon!!
