Counterfeit Kit Challenge August Reveal and Blog Hop

Welcome back to another month of scrappy fun!

Our creative leader, Lisa set us on an interesting path of inspiration.

Follow me down the garden path to see what she's found for us.

I immediately fell in love with the subtle vibe of this kit.  I just adore all of those neutral tones that remind me of canvas, linen and burlap...a very organic feel.

Keep following the path to my garden showcasing my August Kit...

Nothing more natural than a home garden.

Let's see what's growing!

Lots of natural, kraft and burlap to match the inspiration.
A bit of color is added with the MME hexagon paper.
Are hexagons out?  They were all the rage a few years ago.
If they are...don't care!  It's about time this beautiful paper gets used.
Some botanicals are added with that butterfly paper and the vellum.

I used this black floral piece to stand in for the bold black paper in the inspiration.

I love the "farmer's market" theme to this piece plus it ties in to the color scheme.
Burlap paper and faux burlap chipboard letters were a must!

Thin gold thickers (Oops!  I photographed them upside down!) stand in for the natural colored ones in the inspiration.  I think the style may be an exact match...just a different finish.

Natural colored labels and some journaling cards (from my dear Leslie) will hold my thoughts.

Look what I dug up!
Little spots, labels and banners in kraft, pink, and mint edged with black and gold.
  I'd say they're a perfect match!

So, I hope you are "naturally" inspired to create your hybrid variety kit.

Visit the scrappy gardens of my fellow Master Forgers and leave them some love.

A warm welcome to Karen, our guest designer!  So glad you are here.

Lynnette:  YOU ARE HERE!

Now go get this bee!

Sending Scrappiness!

  1. Such a fun way to show off that home grown kit.
You have some fabulous papers in there to play with.
    Have fun cultivating ;)

  2. I love this-and I agree, that hexagon paper is too pretty to not get used-I think it's in if we say it is! I saw a post about using geometric shapes on Shimelle's blog just the other day, maybe it would be inspiring for you :-). Gorgeous kit and display as always!

  3. Oh very fun - you had me at the MME's hexagon paper. Enjoy!!

  4. Yay for another inspired reveal and I love the natural feel of your kit! I don't think hexagons are out at all and that particular paper is perfect for the organic tone of your kit. And you know that I love all those labels too! Happy creating this month!

  5. Wow! Great presentation as usual.Gorgeous kit especially those papers. It will be fun to see what you make out of your items.

  6. Ms Kit Staging Queen! At it again with the perfect presentation of your super pretty kit. Love it. Well done. The soft tones, pretty patterns, gold Thickers (one of my faves and yes, the font is identical to the inspiration kit - I should know, I had several colours in multiple quantities!!!), the journalling stickers and that little bowl of goodies. Sigh. I look forward to seeing your creations this month - 3?

  7. Sigh... you are the MASTER STAGER, hands down! And your scrummy kit couldn't be more beautifully summer. Perfect name, too. I'm thinking that the corn wagon gets a showcase this month? :)

  8. Nothing more natural than a home garden.
I totally agree :) Oh my what a wonderful backdrop for you papers :) Love it! Fantastic choices and love the color blue popping in too :)

  9. LOVE your take on this month's kit. I also love how you showcased it!! You minded me that I bought some burlap or linen "papers" recently. I think I should check to see if any of them match what I have put together so far!

  10. I just love how you showcase your kit here! Super amazing! Love the feel of your kit and definitely love the hexagon paper!

  11. I love the hexagon paper--I had a sheet at one time. I think it is one of my all time favorites. I can't wait to see how you use it!

  12. What an ingenious way to show us your kit! Love everything..especially the hexagon paper..I am hoarding mine..I may even use it one day!

  13. Lovely kit and especially the presentation in your garden! I don't know if some other trends have come in place of hexagons, but I think geometric patterns are never really out! I for one will stay faithful to hexagons. For a garden theme, I also like their connection with beehives. This paper adds really nice colour im your kit.
