CKC Challenge #1 - No Journaling Layout

A quick post to show you my first layout from my March Counterfeit Kit, "Penny Candy".

I'm working waayyyy ahead of time (for me anyway) as it is only February 23rd as I write this.  Tomorrow we leave for the airport for our Disney Cruise!  To say I'm excited is quite an understatement.  By the time this posts, we will have only returned the day before, so even though I am typically an "11th hour girl", I know I can't push the limits THAT much!

Our first challenge of the month is to include no journaling on a layout.  Some of you who shy away from journaling may be doing a jig, but I find that to be hard.  I always have SOMETHING to say!  I think the key to success in this type of challenge is to choose photos and embellishments that tell the story for you.  Take a look at what I came up with:

Doesn't the sweetness just ooze from this layout?  It's almost making my teeth sing!  That wide mouth just getting ready to devour that Mickey sundae just says it all.

I created a little vellum heart filled with sweet little bits and bobs.  Glitter, buttons, chipboard pieces all add to the whimsical feel of this layout.

An ice cream cone, placed upside down, mimics the sundae along with the doily that was on my daughter's dish.

And finally, the title and twine pull it all together.  No other words needed.

Now...you'll have to excuse me as I need to pack my bags for a little Disney magic at sea.  Gee, I hope they have those Mickey sundaes on board the ship!

Bon Voyage!
